Jelly-Roll Heaven

Awww Jelly-Rolls… don’t you just love them?  They are such a versatile dessert in my opinion.  The ingredients can be so simple or slightly complicated, but whatever you choose, however you decorate them, they can be quite awesome. I have made many a jelly-rolls and they are one of my favorites because you can just about make any flavor and fill them with whatever you want. Possibilities are endless and they are the perfect treat for your holiday (or any day) dessert table. Just saying….

My Black Forest Jelly Roulé complete with Kirsch soaked sour cherries and dark chocolate fans (or my attempt at making fans, hahaha) …Magnifique!

Black Forest Cake

Delicious Black Forest Cake (Schwarzwald Kirsch Kuchen), a classic!  This was Village Sweets cake of the day for CANADA DAY!  Village Sweets used used sour morello cherries (No cherry pie filling! That is just not right!),  and a must is the Kirsch to soak your cherries in, it would not be authentic without it.  100% whipping cream (not the frozen cool whip :O),  find the best dark chocolate bar for your chocolate shavings and your cake recipe will be amazing.  It does take a little time, since you should prepare your cake a day or two ahead and let the Kirsch just soak into your cake layers in the refrigerator.  This was Village Sweets result…
