Tried out a few new things… posting them here and on my instagram (LINDA.VS) and as always my facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/Village-Sweets-464749556939290/)
The pudding cups would be sooo cool for your Easter Dessert table 😀 My pudding cups had bits of Angel food cake. Flavors consisted of: 1) Chocolate with a toasted marshmallow cap. 2) Coconut cream with a meringue cap (lightly toasted). 3) Banana cream with a whipped cream topping and sliced bananas. 4) Custard and whipped topping (in pretty pastel cups and saucers). I think the possibilities are endless…
I also baked a delicious Applesauce Cake drizzled with caramel sauce (My applesauce and caramel sauce will soon be available for purchase at my Etsy shop village sweets, woohoo!).
In celebration of a 70th birthday, Village Sweets made a “70” Birthday Cake. One of the cakes, vanilla flavored with an orange cream filling, the other a chocolate cake also filled with an orange cream and both were topped off with big round chocolate roses frosting… Happy Birthday Roberta!
Village Sweets created their first “Make-Up” cake… woohoooo! First the cake, a vanilla cake with a Dulce de Leche filling plus a whipped cream filling and I frosted the cake with a smooth Vanilla Butter Cream frosting and topped it all off with a Pretty Pink Fondant covering. A quilted look with silver Dragées just made it gorgeous, some gum paste make up accessories and voilà this cake was ready to get eaten!
Village Sweets made a tye dye Birthday cake today. The cake was Mocha flavor, layered with Chocolate Whipped Cream and frosted with a Swiss Buttercream and to complete the cake, a tye dye fondant covered our cake. “HaPpY BiRtHdAy Caroline !!”
Village Sweets was commissioned to make an Airplane cake for a bachelorette party. Woohoo my favorite, making theme cakes! I hope she was happy with the end result and of course the taste of the moist chocolate cake and buttercream icing. Thank you Patricia C. ! I hope Andi loved her cake 🙂
Here in Québec, we are celebrating Sugar Shack or “Cabane à Sucre” time. My favorite is when hot maple syrup is poured on the snow and we roll it up on a popsicle stick. Who hasn’t done that! What a treat. And the delicious sucre à la crème. Wonderful time of year for these delicious sweets. So, I just had to make a dessert that would honor our Cabane à sucre festivities. I came up with Maple Gingerbread Cupcakes with an OMG sinful Sucre à la crème Frosting…one word about this frosting H-E-A-V-E-N ! I have to say, these are pretty darn tasty. I added a pretty royal icing pansy for decoration since spring is just around the corner…or is it?
Maple Gingerbread Cupcakes with Sucre à la crème Frosting…Heavenly !!
